Are you a "Catholic" counselor?
Yes, I am a faith-integrated counselor. This means that while I am clinically trained in evidence-based modalities, I welcome your faith and values into the room. If your relationship with God is a part of your life, it can be a powerful resource in your healing. If you prefer a strictly clinical approach, I respect that and will meet you exactly where you are.
Where are you located and do you offer virtual sessions?
My office is located in San Angelo, Texas. I provide in-person sessions for those in the Concho Valley area, as well as secure telehealth (video) sessions for residents across the state of Texas.
Decades of research shows that therapy follows a very predictable map. About 50% of people experience a real "turning point" and a lift in their mood within 8 to 10 sessions. For those looking for "full restoration", where you aren't just managing symptoms but truly healing the root cause, about 75% of people reach that goal after 20 to 26 sessions.
While the data gives us a map, every journey is different. Some clients find the tools they need in a shorter period of time, while others benefit from longer-term support. During our first few meetings, we will develop a plan tailored specifically to your goals, so you know exactly what we are working toward. For those looking for a different pace, we also offer group counseling options with a set number of scheduled sessions.
The Secret to Success: The fastest way to reach these milestones is by meeting every week. Data shows that people who meet weekly get better much faster results than those who meet every other week. Consistency ensures every session builds on the last, helping you move from feeling "stuck" to feeling "restored" as efficiently as possible.
My standard fee is $75 for a 45-minute individual counseling session and $100 for a 60-minute marriage counseling session. Group counseling is offered at a significantly reduced rate. All payments are processed through Simple Practice, where your credit card information is securely stored and charged at the end of each session. Please see the Faith Integrated section of this website for more details, and feel free to email Tony with any questions.
It is completely normal, and even healthy, to feel cautious about starting counseling. If you’re feeling a bit stuck, here is what the data and the process tell us:
The Proven Path: Research consistently shows that 75% to 80% of people who enter counseling see a meaningful improvement in their lives. By simply showing up, you are statistically choosing a path that leads to feeling better.
Safety is the Foundation: You don’t have to dive into your deepest "stuff" on day one. Clinical research confirms that the #1 predictor of success in therapy isn't the specific technique used, but the sense of trust and safety between us. Our first mission isn't "fixing" everything; it's building a connection where you feel seen, heard, and safe.
Fast-Track Healing: Because I specialize in tools like Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), we aren't just "talking about problems" for years. These evidence-based modalities are designed to help the brain reprocess trauma and "stuck" beliefs rapidly—often showing significant results in just a few sessions.
Proactive Care Pays Off: Data suggests that early intervention leads to faster recovery. Addressing that "heavy" feeling now is like getting a 5,000-mile oil change for your mental health; it’s much easier to maintain a heart than to repair a total engine failure later.
The Bottom Line: You don't have to be "ready" to change your whole life today. You only need to be ready to have one conversation. We go at your pace, and we prioritize your safety every step of the way.
I currently operate on a private-pay basis. This allows us to focus entirely on your care without the restrictions often imposed by insurance companies (such as requiring a formal diagnosis or limiting the number of sessions). As compared to other therapists in this area, Restored Hearts Counseling of TX is much more reasonable in price.
ART is a specialized, eye-movement-based therapy that helps the brain "reprogram" how it stores traumatic images and memories. Unlike traditional talk therapy, ART often works much faster—helping clients find relief from distressing memories in as few as 1 to 5 sessions. You remain in control the entire time, and you don’t even have to talk about the details of the trauma out loud if you don’t want to.
Absolutely. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Associate, I am legally and ethically bound to protect your privacy. There are very few exceptions to this (such as if there is a risk of immediate harm to yourself or others), which we will review in detail during your first session.
While I provide support for crisis intervention, I am not a 24-hour emergency service. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or go to the nearest emergency room.
Have questions? If you have specific questions or would like more information before starting, please email Tony at tony@restoredtx.com. I am happy to provide clarity via email to ensure you feel confident moving forward. If you find that you'd prefer to discuss your questions over the phone, we can certainly coordinate a time to chat.
